As we close down our sprinkler systems and put away our hoses for the winter, let’s think about safety with indoor heating.

Soon it will be cold enough to use our heaters on a daily basis. In the winter we find water heaters also work a lot harder than they do in the summer. For these reasons, it is important to have areas around any heating units prepared and monitored.

There are many ways we can help prepare these areas for the winter. We suggest the following 3 ways to monitor the heating areas.

1. Carbon monoxide detectors
2. Smoke detectors
3. Water leak detectors

If your home has these in place, ensure they are properly working and have fresh batteries, and be sure to call us for any water heater service.
